No internet needed
The phones talk to each other directly over Wi-Fi Direct. No mobile data used, and it works where there's no signal. Wi-Fi just needs to be switched on.
Your headset, any brand
Any Bluetooth headset that handles phone calls, or wired earphones with a mic. If the helmet drops out, the sound goes back to it as soon as it reconnects.
Screen off, phone in pocket
BackTalk keeps running in the background with the screen off. Mute and Disconnect are right in the notification.
Reconnects on its own
If the link drops, BackTalk connects again by itself. No pulling over to fiddle with the phone.
Your mic, your rules
Keep the mic always on or let your voice open it, and mute with one tap.
Sound test before the ride
Talk for 3 seconds and hear yourself in the helmet. You'll know the mic and speaker work before you set off.
Private by design
No account, no sign-up. Your conversation isn't recorded and doesn't go through any server. Only a phone that knows your code can connect.

The passenger's app is always free. Pro is needed only on the rider's phone and covers you both.

Does it work bike to bike?
No. BackTalk is made for the rider and passenger on the same motorcycle.
Does it work on iPhone?
Not yet. BackTalk needs two Android phones with Android 12 or newer.
Do I need internet?
Not for talking. Wi-Fi has to be switched on, but you don't need to be connected to any network. Internet is needed only to buy Pro in Google Play.
Which headsets work?
Any Bluetooth headset you can take phone calls with, including helmet intercom units, and wired earphones with a mic. Each phone uses its own headset.
Is there any delay?
A short one, similar to a phone call. BackTalk is tuned to keep speech smooth rather than chase the lowest possible delay.
What languages is the app in?
English and Serbian for now. More languages are planned.
Can I use it off the bike, like a walkie-talkie?
Yes. BackTalk connects two Android phones directly at a short distance, and you both talk freely, with no button to hold. It's designed and tested for two people on one motorcycle, so we don't promise any range beyond that.
